Newmarket were looking forward to playing a tough well organised Sawston side. In the first half Sawston were first to the ball with most of the game being played in midfield. Few chances came to both sides but Newmarket managed to get their nose in front. Sawston came back and at half time they went in at 1-1. The start of the second half saw Sawston make a quick break but Towns defence dealt with the danger. After that Newmarket began to get on top and pinned Sawston back in their own half with shot after shot at their goal until one finally went in to give Newmarket a 2 -1 victory against a very hard working Sawston. Jack Nunn got the first goal and Josh Parnell scored the winner with a cracker of a shot.

Town started the game slowly for the first 10 minutes which gave Saffron Walden some half oppurtunities to score. Then Town started to find their feet and played some great football. Everyone who came on picked up from who came off to create an excellent all round performance from all the boys. The team passed round the opposition to score 8 great goals. Although Saffron Walden were beaten their spirited side kept going and running harder to the end. Man of the Match went to David Marris also getting himself a goal, other goal scorers were Jack Nunn with a well taken 5 and Josh Parnell with a great 2 goals. Well done boys

Newmarket started the game bright and soon put together some good moves which resulted in goals in the first half. The Plantation goalkeeper pulled off some excellent saves to keep the score 5 - 0 at half time. In the second half the football was just as good but the goals just would not go in partly because of the goalkeeper. Newmarket ran out fairly easy winners 7 -1 in the end against a spirited opposition. Man of the match went to Josh Parnell who got himself 2 goals. Jack Nunn got a hat-Trick and Todd Sparrow got 2. After last weeks great result we always knew this would be a tough game against a big, well organised side. In the first half nothing seemed to work for Town, the game was fairly even and Barfield went 1 - 0 up. In the second half the team worked hard and pinned back Barfield until finally scoring 2 goals. This showed the team can grind out a result as well play attractive football. This was a very well earned victory. Man of the match went to our goalie for a great first half display.

Scorers were Jack Nunn and Josh Parnell. Manager says well done to all.

Everyone from Town was looking forward to the return match with Wratting on what turned out to be a sunny winter morning. Newmarket started well and put Wratting under pressure, but they did not concede. It was then Towns turn to defend and our defenders passed with flying colours including some great saves from our goalie. Just before half time Newmarket scored.

As in so many games this season in the second half the teams football was superb. The passing was exceptional and enabled us to score 4 more goals giving a very well deserved 5 -0 win over very stiff competition. All of the boys deserved man of the match but with only one trophy on offer it went to Tom Hickman for a faultless display. Goal scorers were Jack Nunn with a brilliantly taken 4 and Josh Parnell getting the other. Well done boys.

A very highly regarded West Wratting side came to Newmarket for the first of two clashes in January. Town started well and got an early goal. Wratting drew level and the game flowed to a half time score of 3 -2 to the visitors.

In the second half Town started to get on top of Wratting and then equalised. Newmarket pushed for the winner but it just wouldn't come. Wratting still looked dangerous on the attacks they had in the second half. Overall the players played excellent. Tom Sykes was awarded man of the match.

Unfortunately our league fixture was cancelled and we arranged this friendly as a last match before Christmas. In the first half Bar Hill got an early Christmas present when Newmarket gave them a 3 goal head start, and at half time the score was 4 -1.

Having said that Bar Hill are a very good side and were alert from the first whistle. In the second half Town started to play very well but unfortunatly could not get the goals back that they lost in the first half.

Goal scorers were Jack Nunn, Ryan Storrie and Josh Parnell. Man of the Match was Jack Nunn.

Town travelled to Sawston on a cold wet morning anticipating a tough match with a team who has only lost one game in the last 14 months. The game started fairly evenly with both sides having chances. When Sawston attacked, Towns defenders Tom Hickman and William Moore held strong and cleared any danger. Josh Parnell and Todd Sparrows efforts down the flanks was rewarded with both getting goals and Town went 3-0 up at half time.

In the second half Sawston came back at Newmarket and scored 2 goals, but Tom Sykes and Ryan Storrie were excellent in midfield, when Jack Nunn got Towns fourth. Sammy Canning and Harvey Medus came on and did exactly what was asked to secure a very good 2 -4 victory.

Man of the match was a very close call but Ryan Storrie was selected for his excellent performance.

Town played well again in a potentially tricky fixture. Although our game was slightly slower than previous weeks it was still strong enough to beat our opposition. Our goal keeper Callum Dullwich made the right decision on several occasions to keep a well earned clean sheet. Man of the match went to Sammy Canning with a very good display of vision and movement along with a well taken hat trick. Other scorers were Jack Nunn 2, Harvey Medus 1 and Ryan Storrie with 1.

Town started the game well against a big physical Haverhill side. Josh Parnell and Todd Sparrow tested the Haverhill left and right backs repeatedly, and Town went 4-0 up. The start of the second half saw Haverhill try and fight back but Harvey Medus and David Marris held firm and came close to scoring themselves several times. Sammy Canning who was playing his first game came on and was excellent delivering the ball into the middle where Tom Sykes and Joe Kelly were waiting to notch up our goal tally. Callum Dulwich and Jordan Allen done what was asked of them but man of the match went to Ryan Storie with a very good solid display.
